1998 | Delta Dental of Oklahoma (DDOK) establishes the Delta Dental of Oklahoma Charitable Foundation. The company funds the Foundation by contributing 10 percent of its net contribution to reserves (NCR) each year. |
1999 | The Foundation awards its first grant: $10,000 to D-DENT. |
2000 | The Foundation launches its Captain Supertooth program for K-3rd grade students. |
2001 | The Foundation establishes an annual scholarship fund at the OU College of Dentistry. |
2002 | DDOK increases its annual donation to 20 percent of its NCR. |
2002 | The Foundation awards its first grant to a free clinic: $14,500 to Good Shepherd Clinic in OKC. |
2009 | DDOK increases its annual donation to 50 percent of its NCR based on three-year rolling average and hires a full-time foundation manager. |
2010 | The Foundation fully funds the first ever Oklahoma Mission of Mercy with a $150,000 grant and partners with Oklahoma Dental Association and Oklahoma Dental Foundation to conduct annual OkMOM events across the state. |
2011 | Name changes to Delta Dental of Oklahoma Oral Health Foundation. |
2015 | The Foundation launches its school-based sealant pilot program. |
2016 | Establishes pre-dentistry scholarship endowments at East Central University (Ada), University of Cental Oklahoma (Edmond), and University of Oklahoma (Norman). |
2017 | Launches its MouthScience oral health education program for 4-6 grade students. |
2018 | Establishes pre-dentistry scholarship endowments at Oklahoma State University (Stillwater) and Southeastern Oklahoma State University (Durant). |
2018 | The Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary and shortens name to Delta Dental of Oklahoma Foundation. |
2021 | The Foundation makes a $2 million donation to the OU College of Dentistry for the establishment of a Comprehensive Dental Care Clinic on the OU Tulsa campus. |
2022 | The Delta Dental of Oklahoma board of directors votes to contribute 100 percent of annual contribution to reserves to its Foundation. |
2023 | The Foundation celebrates its 25th anniversary and launches the Delta Dental Cavity Prevention Network to conduct and support school-based sealant clinics throughout the state. |
